Nominations and Elections

The 2023-2024 Election for the Association for Equality and Excellence in Education (AEEE) Board of Directors will take place as instructed by the Association’s Bylaws.

The 2024 Annual Conference (meeting) will take place April 21-25, 2024.

AEEE Bylaws establish that: “Prior to the annual meeting of the members of the Association in each year, the Nominations Committee shall prepare a ballot of candidates for election to the Board of Directors. The ballot shall only contain the names of persons who have been either (a) proposed to the Committee for nomination from the membership at least 90 days prior to the annual meeting or (b) selected as the nominees by the Committee. The ballot shall indicate which candidates listed are nominees of the Committee. The members may not elect any person whose name does not appear on the ballot. The ballot shall be sent no less than 60 days prior to the annual meeting to each member, in accordance with the provisions of Article III, Section 2c hereof.”

The Association for Equality and Excellence in Education has eight (8) open positions for the upcoming election:

  • (1) President-Elect

  • (4) AEEE District Representative

  • (3) Board Member at Large - Class of 2027

Position Descriptions

  • The President Elect shall be appointed by the President to chair the Membership Committee and shall be a member of the Finance Committee. The President Elect shall perform such duties as are assigned by the President or prescribed by the Executive Board. The President Elect shall assume the office of President in the event of the death, resignation, prolonged or serious incapacity (greater than 90 days), or expiration of the term of President. The President Elect shall perform the duties of the President in the event of the President’s absence (less than 90 days). The President Elect shall serve as a delegate to the Council for Opportunity in Education.

  • The Board Member at Large shall assist the officers of the Association in conducting the Association’s business affairs. Each Board Member at Large serves on at least one standing committee, special committee, and committee task force. The Board Member at Large shall be divided into three classes. For the purpose of staggering their terms of office all classes shall be as nearly equal in number, as possible, and the terms of each class of Directors shall expire in successive years. Each new class of Directors will be elected for a period of three (3) years by the general membership.

  • Association is divided into seven districts. Each district has its own representative to the Board of Directors. New York Regions: Metro/Long Island, North, Central, and West. New Jersey Regions: North, Central, and South. The District Representatives shall assist the officer of the Association with updating existing or establishing a regional list of TRIO programs that includes current staff names and contact information, Maintain at least monthly contact with regional districts institutions via email and at least bi-monthly conference calls. Provide at least 3 Institutional Spotlights (highlighting past events, students, staff, include high resolution photos) and submit them to the AEEE Communications Committee. Identify and advocate Regional Concern and Convene a meeting of the State at the Annual Conference.Description text goes here
